Magick

Magick, traditionally spelt with a k is not about pulling rabbits out of hats or makings somebody's car keys disappear. That is just illusionary, purely mechanical tricks which fool the observer into believing something which appears to be improbable or even impossible has occured. That kind of stage magic is often known as sleight of hand.

Real Magick, in the Pagan sense is much more subtle and a whole lot less dramatic. That is not to say that it is not powerful, for it is indeed a powerful tool. Magick involves gentle manipulation of natural energies to bring about changes in the world. Scott Cunningham describes magick as "The projection of natural energies to produce needed effects"

Some folks will mock the idea of using magick because it has not been scientifically accepted. However just because scientists dont endorse something does not invalidate it. The time will eventually come when science can explain magick, just like other things that seemed mysterious and paranormal a few years ago such as magnetism or hypnotism.
