Crabbing
Crabbing is something that we like to do when we are at the seaside. What you do is just see how many crabs you can catch and keep in your bucket of sea water. Once you are finished simply return the lot to the sea completely unharmed.
At its most basic you need a peice of string and a little perforated bag to put the bait in to attract the crabs. What you do is put the bait into the bag (A washing tablet bag is great if you can still find one) and drop it into the sea. You could easily use an old sock or stocking. The bait will attract crabs and when one approaches it will grab your bag and hold onto it. This is when you slowly pull the bag out of the water.
You don't hurt the crab doing this, it's just that the crab is daft enough to keep holding on. A fishing net is a good way to let you lift the crab up without getting your fingers nipped! It's great fun and really that simple- oh and for some strange reason bacon makes an excellent bait.
