Camping
Ever since we were little we have always enjoyed camping. From family holidays under canvas, to sleeping out in our back garden during those seemingly endless summers that were inevitively over too soon. In our mid to late teens family holidays in the west highlands were an annual treat. Regions such as Lochaber and Wester Ross were simply stunning.
As an adult we met our partner and started going to new places as well as to places that we had previously enjoyed holidaying in. We would go to Wales and the Scottish highlands. Places like Glencoe and Ullapool are particularly dear to us, but one of the blessings of being Scottish is that our country has plenty of spectacular scenery.
These days we have a home built camper van which gives us the freedom to just park up somewhere we like and settle for the night. It also means no hassle putting away a wet tent, only to dry it out again when we got home. The camper has a cooker, a sink some cupboards and a full size double bed. Sheer luxuary compared to a tent, especially when we are getting on a bit.
